Metal Black Nickel Electrical Sockets And Switches For A Perfect Finish

Electrical Counter is pleased to promote the BG Nexus range of electrical sockets and switches for use both in the house and in the office or work place. The company is particularly pleased to be able to stock a complete range of fittings than cover virtually every eventuality of usage. The BG Nexus range has been developed to provide a very attractive design finish that will stand out most impressively when fitted into the décor of the building. The Metal Black Nickel finish is a very subtle colour and whilst distinctive it is not an “In your face” finish and will tone into not only a modern finished building but will not be wasted in less contemporary surroundings. The finish of all the metal fascia’s is such that they are a polished smooth surface which gives very clean lines and simple finish and they all match a basic standard design with no sharp edges but all rounded corners and sides.

Electrical Counter notes that the system is an ideal one to be used where there is a requirement to keep the whole place clean and within the bounds. The materials of the metal surface are such that they retain their initial properties over a long period and do not deteriorate with time. They are simple and when cleaned with bacterial wipes will remove all bugs that may be transferred to them and they pick up less bugs in the first place as the smooth surface is less attractive to their collection. This makes them ideal for usage in the kitchen or office and they are quite acceptable in places where there is a serious chance of bug and disease transfer.

The full BG range of switches and sockets have allowed the BG Nexus brand to become a major range of products and Electrical Counter is delighted to be able to stock the full range available for delivery on an immediate call off basis. The Metal Black Nickel range is at present a most attractive range not only because of their design but also because of their price. At present Electrical Counter is pleased to be able to offer the whole range at vastly discounted prices, which makes their usage competitive with some of the cheapest models on sale. Some typical examples show the Metal Black Nickel dimmer switch on sale at £9.99 instead of the usual £31.51 whilst the simple Black Nickel light switch is on sale for £2.91 against a usual price of £14.41. The overall cost of the sockets and switches being in the range 25% to 33% of the original cost.

Electrical Counter have an excellent web site in which all the different ranges of Nexus metal switches can be seen and if there are any further queries the experience of a well trained staff is available by telephone to answer any queries. Electrical Counter pride themselves on the fact that whilst the internet warehouse provides good quality materials at cheap prices it has also retained the experience essential to run this business and to make sure that it is available to company employee and customer alike.

Stainless Steel Gets Switched On With The Electrical Counter

The market for electrical switches and sockets grows larger each day and it is now a possible to change the appearance of the electrical service systems within a house or office regularly without breaking the bank. Electrical Counter has developed a full market range of switches and sockets to meet what is likely to be an ever increasing market place. The company has developed their Internet marketing system to be able to supply the fullest range of electrical equipment at a moment’s notice off the shelf and Electrical Counter is pleased to be able to meet almost all requirements at a time to suit the customer. The electrical market demands instant attention with orders required tomorrow and quality of the highest order and safety standards to match. Electrical Counter can deal with all of these as a matter of routine and has also been able to develop prices which match any company and are usually cheaper. Some of the latest prices for switches and sockets are only 30% of what they were a short time ago.

The Stainless Steel range is one of the ranges that have gained from this reduction in prices and Electrical Counter is pleased to have been able to negotiate with their manufacturer’s rates, which are a great advantage to the industry, the customer and the supplier. The stainless steel ranges are quite interesting and do give a completely new outlook on the design and installation of the electrical service systems. The stainless can be of a brushed steel type of finish which looks good and lasts particularly well, it handles well and the fitting is easy and there is even a range of screwless face plates which have nothing to break the face plate but the rounded switch toggle. There is also stainless steel of a semi polished or plain finish, which again look good and provide a different appearance. The brushed steel switches are particularly good for their resilience as they will last for a long time without any deterioration. The attributes of stainless steel are many and obvious and now metals can be used safely in switches and sockets the options are endless.

Electrical Counter considers the stainless steel range as ideal for the office and workplace as the finished effect goes particularly well with the latest designs of the modern office. The Nexus Metal switches and sockets fit well into the dado rail system which allows the service to be placed just where required for easy access and shortest cable links. Appearance is everything these days and the quickest way to change the appearance in a building is to change the fitments that are present. The electrical service fitments from switches and sockets to data and telephone points are easy to change and these will make a great deal of difference to the overall view of the building. No decorating is required and the whole operation will be carried out in a very limited time but the results can be present for years to come.

The Electrical Counter Promote The Advantages Of Elnur Storage Heaters

The Electrical Counter have built up an excellent range of products to be supplied directly via the internet from their excellent web site, the base of the business is as the name suggests, anything that the electrical trade might require usually, off the shelf. If the product required is not obvious on the web site then an excellent call service will establish whether and when it can be delivered. This is certainly the case with the Elnur Storage Heaters, which The Electrical Counter company is very pleased to supply from its standard in-stock store. This resurgent business in storage heaters has developed because of the inspired development of the latest Elnur Storage Heaters. These Elnur Storage Heaters are now very efficient in energy usage from a low cost electrical source and they come in a range of sizes from 1.7KW to 3.4 KW power rating and also in a range of manual or automatic controls.

The Elnur Storage Heaters are of a superb slim line design that fit very well in any standard room and the small size of the units mean that they do not take up the whole of the wall space. The controls are easily accessible and the units acne work as a stand-alone unit or fixed to link in with other storage heaters as part of a fully controlled central heating system. The Electrical Counter is delighted with the quality of the Storage Heaters and the complete range of manual and automatic units that are available which enable the installer such a wide range of options. The safety systems are such that the Storage Heaters have automatic safety power cut outs when the grills, where the heat is released, are covered with clothes or other items. The Electrical Counter supply Storage Heaters where there is an automatic control system on the heat input to the heat sink so that just the right amount of heat is input into the storage heater for later usage. Elnur have developed the range of Storage Heaters to meet all occasions and the sophistication levels are now so good that they heat input on the best units is controlled so that it takes account of the weather so that heat is not wasted in periods of warm weather or left short in periods of excessive cold. If this is added to a full central control system the maximum flexibility in heating control is possible, Hyco Water Heaters are also another great addition to the system in order to maximise your homes overall efficiency.

The Electrical Counter is pleased to note that these units fit extremely well in conditions where there is a surfeit of electrical power from a solar panel system where the daytime electricity is basically the property of the householder during the day and hence is free.

The market is ever increasing and the boiler fuel systems are not only suffering price rises from the energy suppliers but things like gas checks are now advised annually for house owners and are imposed by law on the house rental business. The Electrical Counter notes that the costs of each system when all the equipment costs, energy costs and service costs are taken into account are very close. The Electrical Counter welcomes any enquiries on the use of Elnur Storage Heaters.

Lamp Post Now Stock Full In-Line Manrose Extractor Fan Range

Lamp Post Electrical supply all electrical equipment for the power circuits of the house and office and the Internet has allowed them to build a great business, which supplies the market at prices which are well below those of the standard retail outlets. Their typical website is both informative and descriptive so that a good idea of the product can be quickly gained. Any further information can be gained by e-mail or phone. The delivery service is what the customer wants it to be, but Lamp Post Electrical prides themselves on getting the goods quickly and safely to the customer.

The extraction fan business has become more and more complex over the years as the pollution rules and regulations have become stronger and this will change still further in the next few years as environmental and social conditions become stricter. The rules on extraction fans for the bathroom and washroom areas have always been strict because of the danger of water and electricity mixing and passing electrical currents to earth. The introduction of the 17th edition RCD controlled circuits has helped matters, but most installations still use off site extractor pumps to get rid of the unwanted steam and smells.

Lamp Post Electrical have supplied the Manrose CFD200T in line extractor fan for some time and it is a very reliable piece of equipment. The pump works on a typical 4 inch diameter extraction tube that connects to the waste exit of the bathroom to the extraction fan itself. The power of the extractor fan is such that it extracts some 85 cubic metres per hour very quietly and continuously. The fan is fitted in lime and into the line and extraction is not a problem as it will deal with all the typical problems that bathroom extractor fans may have during their normal operation. It should clear away all steam developed by the shower or the bath and leave the room dry, it will also remove obnoxious smells.

Lamp Post Electrical supply all the fittings and fixtures for the operation and the only real problem is where to fix the extractor fan into its final position as this obviously needs to be outside the bathroom. It can be fitted below the floor or above the ceiling but there will be a need for a suitably sized space and also the requirements in the case of an emergency so that future access may be possible to repair or replace easily. All that then remains is a suitable access for the extracted gases to be passed outside of the building through a tube and grill. If there are no suitable access routes then there are some extractor fans which can work in the bathroom or wash room environment without the need for the ultimate protection but these must be mounted so that they cannot be reached when standing in the bath or shower.

If your cables are in a mess then Lamp Post Electrical Supplies trunking experts will be able to advise on how it can be used to safely provide power outlets, telephone points and RJ45 connections for PC’s and leave no cables in sight other than those going to the sockets. Dado trunking really does make for a safer working environment, enabling you to immediately shut the power down in the event of a problem. No more fumbling under a desk frantically trying to find which plug to pull out to cut the power to the shredder off as an example.

Lastly just remember that badly managed cables are the source of nothing but problems with it being a nightmare to find out which power cable leads to which PC and which telephone socket connects to which phone. So speak to Lamp Post Electrical Suppliestrunking specialists today to see how their innovative Dado Trunking solutions can help you sort out your cabling problems.

Safety Improvements Required For Home Electrics

It is interesting to note that in a University electrical laboratory students are limited to dealing with 50v and 3A maximum, yet we are allowed free to use 240v and 13A with virtually no restrictions at home.

So one would question why all new dwellings have to have modern consumer units fitted by law, and older houses do not? Time for a change maybe?

Well you do not have to wait for the law to change as getting your old fuse box changed for a consumer unit is a very straight forwards job for a competent electrician, and should take them less than a day to fit.

If you have just bought an older property then changing an old fuse box over should be your first priority, particularly if you are going to be doing a lot of refurbishment, which may put a higher than normal load on the electrical system.

Firstly there is the safety aspect with regards to electrocution, a modern consumer unit features Residual Current Devices (RCD’s) that sense any current imbalance between the positive and neutral conductors, such as you drilling through the live cable in a wall. The beauty of them is that they sense this imbalance in milliseconds, and cut out the power before it has had chance to electrocute you. This alone for me is a good enough reason for anyone to replace their fuse box as soon as possible.

Secondly unlike a fuse box, the modern units have mini-circuit breakers that do not blow out like a fuse but just trip out, and unlike a fuse they can be instantly re-switched on by flicking the breaker back up. This means goodbye to trying to find the right grade fuse wire in the dark, and no more running out of the right grade of fuse wire full stop.

They can also be fitted with Residual Current Circuit Breakers with Overload protection (RCBO’s), which also sense current overload. Whilst the fitment of RCD’s in new boxes is mandatory, the next logical progression would be for RCBO’s to also be made mandatory to fit.

Also the safety benefits in replacing an older fuse box with a new consumer unit far outweigh the cost of fitting, particularly with new eight way units starting from as low as £35 plus the cost of the RCD’s and Mini-Breakers.

By fitting a new consumer unit you greatly de-risk being electrocuted or having an electrical fire, so do it today before it is too late.

Class Portfolio of Laser Sources at Fabtech 2011

Coherent Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) (Nasdaq: COHR) showcased it’s new kilowatt class portfolio of laser sources at the Fabtech 2011 trade show held last month in Chicago, IL. The company updated its three-pronged kilowatt class strategy addressing the high power materials processing market, which includes laser cutting, welding, cladding and heat treating applications.

The company presented at the show a kilowatt version of its highly reliable, E-Series CO2 lasers called the DIAMOND E-1000. The DIAMOND E-1000 is a compact design that is up to 80% smaller than competitive offerings, requires no consumables and has been shown to cut metals at similar speeds as lasers with twice the power. In addition to saving space, the compact design allows the DIAMOND E-1000 to be mounted on a robot, eliminating the need for fiber delivery systems.

The DIAMOND E-1000 is joined by the Highlight 8000D, a kilowatt class direct-diode system, which was introduced in June 2011 during Laser Munich trade show. The HighLight 8000D features output powers up to 8 kW and is the most powerful, industrial, direct-diode laser system currently available with smart free space beam delivery – providing high power light in the shape and distance required by the application. With systems already deployed in the cladding market, HighLight 8000D enables the largest area at the highest deposition rate currently available.

Completing the three-pronged kilowatt class strategy is Coherent’s HighLight 1000FL fiber laser. This will be the first product in an OEM-focused kW to multi-kW fiber platform. It utilizes Coherent diode bars in a single step pump aggregation without service incompatible splices or gratings – all coupled into a 50 μm fiber delivery. This uniquely, simple architecture is more feedback resistant and is modular in design to enable future serviceability. The HighLight 1000FL is primarily targeted at cutting and welding of metals, such as mild and stainless steels, copper, aluminum, brass, titanium, and aluminum-magnesium.

The three kilowatt class strategy ensures that any material or process can be achieved using either CO2 lasers, direct-diode systems, or fiber lasers – all from Coherent.

Founded in 1966, Coherent, Inc. is a world leader in providing photonics based solutions to the commercial and scientific research markets and part of the Russell 2000. Please direct any questions to Frank Gaebler, Segment Marketing Director at 408-764-4000. Pounce Consulting Announces Its New Strategic Alliance With AMD

Pounce Consulting Inc. has announced today the strategic alliance with AMD (NYSE: AMD) to develop an Embedded Platform Board for the AMD Embedded G-Series platform. Pounce Electronics division will be in charge of the entire design and manufacturing of the board, in its own manufacturing facility.

The main goal of this project is to enable embedded solutions based on the AMD Embedded G-Series platform. This board will help develop engineering solutions, software and hardware, allowing direct access to every I/O feature available from the AMD platform, a robustness which is rarely accessible or available on standard off-the-shelf PC motherboards.

This board is aimed at providing a target platform for embedded customers using the Sage Electronic Engineering integrated development environment (IDE), a high performance development tool that helps embedded developers achieve a quicker time-to-market. This board design will take advantage of AMD’s special interconnect for a custom carrier board, which means that it will allow a low cost direct connection to a secondary board, enabling developers additional easy customization in their designs.

“Development boards are a key support component for the embedded market,” said Buddy Broeker, director, Embedded Solutions, AMD. “With Pounce Electronics, we’ve found a highly qualified and creative technology partner whose new AMD Embedded G-Series-based board will offer design support for each key feature of the platform.”

The Mexican Government, through the Ministry of Economic Development of the state of Jalisco, will be joining forces alongside Pounce and AMD in this project. The government will provide some of the funds necessary for this development in an effort to increase the investment and participation of electronic companies, such as AMD, in the country.
