Promwad partners with Asian chip vendors to offer cost-effective electronic designs in Europe

VILNIUS, Lithuania, 2017-Aug-04 — /EPR ELECTRONICS NEWS/ — Promwad Electronics Design House has partnered with leading technological fabless companies in China and Southeast Asia to offer its clients cost-effective electronics product development from the center of Europe and to manufacture any batch size of new devices with priority tech support.

Promwad was one of only a few design houses in the EMEA region authorized by Allwinner, one of the leading Chinese chip manufacturers. Promwad’s engineers design electronics based upon Allwinner components and provide tech support during the entire life cycle of the designed devices:

  • tablet PCs, multimedia and portable devices based on Allwinner SoC A series;
  • TV set-top boxes with OTT and IPTV based on Allwinner SoC H series;
  • dash cameras, video cameras and action cameras based on Allwinner SoC V series;
  • onboard multimedia systems for vehicles based on Allwinner SoC T series.

Allwinner was founded ten years ago; its headquarters are based in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China. In 2013 and 2014 this chip vendor was the world’s largest supplier of application processors for Android tablets.

Also Promwad became an official partner of Telink, Shanghai, and has significantly expanded its expertise in the fields of Bluetooth and BLE. This chip vendor specializes in Bluetooth and Zigbee for IoT and wearable electronics, remote controls, smart lighting and smart toys.

The engineers of Promwad have a lot of experience with the most popular chipsets of other vendors: TI CC265x, Silabs EFR32 Blue Gecko, Nordic nRF, Qualcomm/CSR10xx, and Dialog DA1458x. And now Telink TLSR826x BLE SoC has been added to this list; this system on chip has low power consumption, supports Zigbee, 6LoWPAN/Thread, and HomeKit.

Promwad maintains cooperation with the company Realtek from Taiwan and uses its chips to design network equipment from CPE – routers, gateways, WiFi hotspots to operators-side telecom equipment such as unmanaged and managed switches.

“Today the center of the semiconductor industry’s innovations and manufacture is shifting to Asia. Traditional chip vendors from the USA and Europe face growing competition from this region. Our customers demand functional and cost effective solutions to be designed at closer location such as Belarus or Lithuania and manufactured in Asia, that’s why establishing close links with Asian chip makers is a natural step for us,” says Ivan Kuten, the Business Developer of Promwad. “Namely by using such cooperation we cover our most growing capabilities in tablets, consumer gadgets, STB, CPE and multimedia devices. Now our customers in the EU and North America can create new hi-tech devices with controlled costs, tech support in English and manufacturing facilities in Europe or Asia.”

Miele Sponsorship Of Charity Fashion Show Gets Design SPARKS Flying

Miele celebrated its established association with both fashion and clothes care by announcing the winner of the Miele Fashion Prize competition at the high-profile SPARKS fashion fundraiser.

The theme of the Miele Fashion Prize, which was launched at London Fashion Week in September 2008, was to design a dress based on one of the gentle fabric care programmes available on Miele washer and dryers. Celebrity judges including TV presenter Natalie Pinkham, swimmer Mark Foster, and up-and-coming fashion design star Jasper Garvida chose a design by student Nathan Jones, aged 23, from the hundreds of entries received.

Nathan’s winning design which was themed around ‘easy-care couture’ and made by Jasper Garvida, was unveiled at the star-studded Sparks charity Fashion Show. Nathan won the opportunity to follow his design – modelled by Strictly Come Dancing star Camilla Dallerup – out onto the catwalk and was treated to a table of honour at the fashion show, as well as receiving £1,000 of Miele appliances for his home.

Chris Wright, Miele brand communications manager, said: “Fashion and clothes care go hand in hand and Miele has a commitment to supporting rising talent within fashion. Clothes are a statement of personality and Miele’s award-winning washing machines are developed to ensure that clothes look as perfect as they did the first time they were worn. Fashion-conscious individuals don’t want their purchases to become faded or bobbled after a couple of washes and understand that an investment in fashion should be mirrored by an investment in the machines that will keep treasured clothing looking like new.

Miele’s patented honeycomb drum gently cushions clothes during washing, and this, coupled with advanced washing programmes such as Silks and Delicates, means that anyone can care for their most coveted fashion items.

Jasper Garvida, commented: “It was a delight to be a judge for the Miele Fashion Prize – the entries were all of an extremely high standard and it was exciting to see so much creativity. Nathan won for his beautiful design that showed that high glamour and designer fashion can go together with easy clothes care.”

Miele, The UK’s Premium Domestic Appliance Brand, Is Celebrating 80 Years Of Leadership In Dishwashers With The Launch Of A Special Edition Miele G1225SC

Miele, the UK’s premium domestic appliance brand, is celebrating 80 years of leadership in dishwashers with the launch of a Special Edition Miele G1225SC.

Miele, The UK's Premium Domestic Appliance Brand, Is Celebrating 80 Years

Originally invented in the 1880’s, by American society hostess Josephine Cochrane, to solve the problem of her servants being too slow and chipping her expensive china, Miele took the machine to the next level. In 1929, Miele developed Europe’s first electrically powered dishwasher. From here, followed the continuous innovation now synonymous with Miele’s premium home appliance range, with developments such as the first automatic dishwasher (the G10), the first dishwasher with electronic sensors and controlled wash programmes (the G560 in 1979), and more recently, market leading features including cutlery tray, salt container in the door, ‘Add-an-item’ without comprising wash results, and ‘AutoClose’ door function.

Reducing consumption has been a leading principal of Miele’s company philosophy for many years. Between 1980 and 1983, Miele dishwashers had already cut water consumption by well over 40% and energy consumption by almost 30%. Continuing in this vein, the AAA-rated Miele G1225SC offers reduced energy and water consumption when compared to the standard Miele G1222SC dishwasher model (Energy from 1.05 to 0.95 kWh / Water from 13l to 10l). All Miele dishwashers use intelligent technology to adapt to circumstances and make the most economical use of electricity, water and salt. Further reductions are also found in the noise level, with the machine operating at a mere 44 dB(A), and the duration of the programme now only 169 minutes.

A further benefit of the Special Edition Miele G1225SC is the increased capacity from 12 to 14 place settings. It also features a third level cutlery tray where every item has its own slot meaning it doesn’t touch any other piece of cutlery, and water runs off freely, assuring excellent washing and drying results. The cutlery tray also allows the washing of silver and stainless steel cutlery in the same load without any damage.

The Special Edition G1225SC Novotronic controls are fully electronic meaning less wear and tear to the control system. Additional features include turbo function, delay start option and Auto Sensor for more accurate results.

Available from John Lewis and leading independent domestic appliance retailers the Special Edition Miele G1225SC comes with a free five year warranty.

Miele, Premium Domestic Appliance Manufacturer, Take The Strain Out Of Stain Removal

Miele, premium domestic appliance manufacturer, understands that a crisp white blouse and a glass of red wine do not make good companions. A mere drop of a favourite vintage could result in a long and tiresome process of pre-treating and soaking to get the stain out.

To combat this, Miele’s brand new range of intelligent washing machines, the W5000 Range, offers models which take the guess work out of tough stain removal with its innovative stain system that can distinguish between several persistent stain types. With 22 options including red wine, grass, coffee and lipstick, removing them couldn’t be easier.

Miele

Users can select up to three of these stain options and the machine does the rest. It will adjust the wash cycle parameters including water level, spin speed, wash rhythm and duration, according to the type of soiling. The LCD display on the machines also offers stain removal hints and tips for improved results.

The W5000 Series features Miele’s patented 7kg honeycomb drum which offers the gentlest fabric care, even on bigger loads. The range also boasts eco-friendly features such as low temperature washing (cold and 20 Celsius) and an Energy Efficiency rating which is 20% more economical than ‘A’.

The W5000 Series has a selection of handy everyday programmes, which have all been designed to offer quality results and care for wardrobe favourites. These include cottons, woollens, shirts, dark garments and denim.

Several new programmes have also been added to the W5000 Series. Express 20 is a 20 minute wash for lightly soiled garments – perfect for freshening up a blouse or jumper just before a night out. The Intensive Plus programme, which is available on the top of the range model, is ideal for heavily soiled items like rugby tops. It automatically pre-washes the clothes, extends the main wash and increases the temperature to remove tough and persistent dirt.

For those who prefer to do their laundry overnight, Miele’s Extra Quiet option will automatically select no spin and rinse hold at the end of the wash cycle. Water will remain in the drum until they are ready to initiate the spin cycle the next morning. After two minutes, the spinning is complete and the washing is ready.

A self-cleaning detergent drawer signals the end of messy left over detergent. Made with non-stick properties, the drawer has a detergent repellent surface. Impulses of water are also drawn into the compartment during all programmes to pressure clean and remove any residual detergent.

With a combination of classic design and high end features the new Miele W 5000 range has been designed to provide the ultimate in gentle, environmentally friendly laundry care

Completely Non-Contacting Rotary Position Sensor By Cherry Electrical Products, Inc.

Cherry’s new AN9 series dual-output rotary position sensor is electrically and physically non-contacting, making it ideal for applications where high reliability and uncertain physical tolerances are involved. Its dual output design offers an additional dimension of reliability, allowing a connected controller to diagnose potential problems in the sensing system.

cherrysensor

The sensor output is programmable, but it is available in standard output ranges from 0-45 degrees to 0-360 degrees. Its non-contacting nature means that unlimited rotations are possible. Designed for automotive and off-road environments, the sensor is also sealed to IP68 for resistance to water immersion.

The AN9 eliminates the most common cause of rotary position sensor performance problems by removing the mechanical interface between rotating shaft and sensor. In Cherry’s unique design, a rotating member mates to a separate magnetic actuator. This means that mis-alignment or changes in the shaft position will not physically impact the sensor. While potentiometric sensors may suffer from wear or dither and traditional non-contacting sensors may experience binding or jamming, the Cherry AN9 sensor is vulnerable to none of these potential failure modes.

The Hall-effect-based AN9 offers a 5vdc ratiometric output. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including: steering wheel position sensor, shift-by-wire sensor, variable valve timing position sensor, and pedal position sensor for braking and acceleration.

Merlin Digital Will Attend Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) MEA 2009 With A Lifestyle Technology Product Range

Merlin Digital will attend Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) MEA 2009 with a lifestyle technology product range that the company claims represents some of the most innovative consumer electronics kit available in the market today. Merlin reckons that its products also offer retailers a compelling margin proposition and a solid growth opportunity during the current economic conditions.

Rohit Bachani, group head MENA region at Merlin, said: “Associating with the Merlin brand lends an image of being at the cutting edge to the participating retailer. Merlin products have proven to be best sellers in their categories at international super stores such as Dubai Duty Free, Plug-Ins, Carrefour and CompuMe to name a few.”

“New innovative products tend to be recession proof, a fact that can be proven, with Merlin sales in the region looking to grow a healthy 15% to 20% in a slowing economy. Merlin resellers enjoy healthy margins and industry leading retail and marketing support, ensuring that a very profitable partnership is created between Merlin and its resellers,” Bachani added.

Merlin plans to increase brand awareness at DCC MEA, explain the breadth of its product portfolio and target potential retail partners in new geographies. The company will also look for feedback from its existing partners as it attempts to lay the foundations for continued growth in the region.

“The MEA market does not seem to have suffered to the same extent from the global crisis as many other geographic locations. We expect growth all through the MEA region for the Merlin range due to a very competitive product mix and young target population,” continued Bachani.

Merlin reckons that its products have a novelty effect, which can act as a magnet for foot traffic within a retail outlet. Merlin’s portfolio covers a wide range of product areas including storage products, boys’ toys and high-technology gifts, car multimedia and bluetooth products, digital photo frames, iPhone accessories and iPod accessories and laptop stands plus much more.

“Merlin does have a professional channel programme- with very attractive margins at every step in the chain including our distributors and our retail partners. We have seen the margins that our partners make on competitor products and Merlin stands out very favourably, not just on the margins, but also on other essentials such as warranty, product support and training and marketing,” explained Bachani.

Merlin offers full merchandising support to retail partners and continues to launch new products on an ongoing basis. Full details of new products are made available on the company’s e-commerce enabled website – www.merlin-digital.com – often accompanied by video clips. Merlin’s business in the MEA region continues to grow at 15% per annum despite the current economic conditions.

“Our company is known for treating our channels as true partners in the marketing sense. We are very responsive to their business needs – adjusting our targets and margins as per the market sensitivities,” concluded Bachani.

ICT and CE-focused retailers and vendors from across the Middle East will gather next month at the fifth annual Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) Middle East & Africa (MEA) event, which will take place from May 19th to 21st 2009. The region’s premier event for the consumer electronics (CE), communications and ICT retail channel continues to go from strength to strength, offering a compelling mix of one-on-one meetings, conference sessions, awards and networking opportunities for retailers, distributors and vendors.

Retailers will have the opportunity to review the latest products from the 50-plus vendors set to attend this year’s event. With retailers attending from 15-plus countries, attending DCC MEA offers vendors insight into markets across the region and the opportunity to accelerate or improve their go-to-market retail strategy.

The ‘Middle East Retail Academy: 2009 Awards’ Gala Dinner and live voting session will also take place at DCC MEA on 20th May 2009. The awards recognise excellence in the region’s consumer electronics and IT retail channel. A total of 22 awards are up for grabs in 2009 with categories for vendors, retailers and distributors.
