Co-operative Electrical Beats The Postal Strike

CUSTOMERS have no need to worry about the effects of the Royal Mail workers’ strike when they order goods from the Co-operative Electrical.

That’s because the company always uses either its own dedicated delivery teams, or a private courier firm, to handle all deliveries.

Not only does this mean that deliveries are unaffected by the current industrial action by Royal Mail staff, but also that Co-operative Electrical can offer its customers a delivery service which is more tailored to their needs.

For instance, for all major kitchen appliances such as cookers and Large LCD TVs, the company offers a Rapid Delivery service, using its own dedicated delivery team. They will deliver to customers, place the item in the room where it is required, unpack it, and take away all the packaging to be recycled.

“We take our commitment to our customers one stage further, by offering to remove their old appliances in certain instances, saving them the trouble of having to make other arrangements,” said Co-operative Electrical’s Sales Manager Chris Barker..

On these larger items, Co-operative Electrical also offers customers a guaranteed delivery time slot, confirmed by email and text message the day before delivery is due to be made.

Customers ordering many smaller appliances recieve a delivery service by private courier, again bypassing Royal Mail. For this service, Co-operative Electrical uses a highly reputable courier company, and if ordered before 5pm, items in stock at the time of order will usually be delivered on the next working day Of course, this means that customers can be sure that if they’re ordering for Christmas, goods will be delivered in time, wherever they are required.

Miele Sponsorship Of Charity Fashion Show Gets Design SPARKS Flying

Miele celebrated its established association with both fashion and clothes care by announcing the winner of the Miele Fashion Prize competition at the high-profile SPARKS fashion fundraiser.

The theme of the Miele Fashion Prize, which was launched at London Fashion Week in September 2008, was to design a dress based on one of the gentle fabric care programmes available on Miele washer and dryers. Celebrity judges including TV presenter Natalie Pinkham, swimmer Mark Foster, and up-and-coming fashion design star Jasper Garvida chose a design by student Nathan Jones, aged 23, from the hundreds of entries received.

Nathan’s winning design which was themed around ‘easy-care couture’ and made by Jasper Garvida, was unveiled at the star-studded Sparks charity Fashion Show. Nathan won the opportunity to follow his design – modelled by Strictly Come Dancing star Camilla Dallerup – out onto the catwalk and was treated to a table of honour at the fashion show, as well as receiving £1,000 of Miele appliances for his home.

Chris Wright, Miele brand communications manager, said: “Fashion and clothes care go hand in hand and Miele has a commitment to supporting rising talent within fashion. Clothes are a statement of personality and Miele’s award-winning washing machines are developed to ensure that clothes look as perfect as they did the first time they were worn. Fashion-conscious individuals don’t want their purchases to become faded or bobbled after a couple of washes and understand that an investment in fashion should be mirrored by an investment in the machines that will keep treasured clothing looking like new.

Miele’s patented honeycomb drum gently cushions clothes during washing, and this, coupled with advanced washing programmes such as Silks and Delicates, means that anyone can care for their most coveted fashion items.

Jasper Garvida, commented: “It was a delight to be a judge for the Miele Fashion Prize – the entries were all of an extremely high standard and it was exciting to see so much creativity. Nathan won for his beautiful design that showed that high glamour and designer fashion can go together with easy clothes care.”

Miele, The UK’s Premium Domestic Appliance Brand, Is Celebrating 80 Years Of Leadership In Dishwashers With The Launch Of A Special Edition Miele G1225SC

Miele, the UK’s premium domestic appliance brand, is celebrating 80 years of leadership in dishwashers with the launch of a Special Edition Miele G1225SC.

Miele, The UK's Premium Domestic Appliance Brand, Is Celebrating 80 Years

Originally invented in the 1880’s, by American society hostess Josephine Cochrane, to solve the problem of her servants being too slow and chipping her expensive china, Miele took the machine to the next level. In 1929, Miele developed Europe’s first electrically powered dishwasher. From here, followed the continuous innovation now synonymous with Miele’s premium home appliance range, with developments such as the first automatic dishwasher (the G10), the first dishwasher with electronic sensors and controlled wash programmes (the G560 in 1979), and more recently, market leading features including cutlery tray, salt container in the door, ‘Add-an-item’ without comprising wash results, and ‘AutoClose’ door function.

Reducing consumption has been a leading principal of Miele’s company philosophy for many years. Between 1980 and 1983, Miele dishwashers had already cut water consumption by well over 40% and energy consumption by almost 30%. Continuing in this vein, the AAA-rated Miele G1225SC offers reduced energy and water consumption when compared to the standard Miele G1222SC dishwasher model (Energy from 1.05 to 0.95 kWh / Water from 13l to 10l). All Miele dishwashers use intelligent technology to adapt to circumstances and make the most economical use of electricity, water and salt. Further reductions are also found in the noise level, with the machine operating at a mere 44 dB(A), and the duration of the programme now only 169 minutes.

A further benefit of the Special Edition Miele G1225SC is the increased capacity from 12 to 14 place settings. It also features a third level cutlery tray where every item has its own slot meaning it doesn’t touch any other piece of cutlery, and water runs off freely, assuring excellent washing and drying results. The cutlery tray also allows the washing of silver and stainless steel cutlery in the same load without any damage.

The Special Edition G1225SC Novotronic controls are fully electronic meaning less wear and tear to the control system. Additional features include turbo function, delay start option and Auto Sensor for more accurate results.

Available from John Lewis and leading independent domestic appliance retailers the Special Edition Miele G1225SC comes with a free five year warranty.

Miele, Premium Domestic Appliance Manufacturer, Take The Strain Out Of Stain Removal

Miele, premium domestic appliance manufacturer, understands that a crisp white blouse and a glass of red wine do not make good companions. A mere drop of a favourite vintage could result in a long and tiresome process of pre-treating and soaking to get the stain out.

To combat this, Miele’s brand new range of intelligent washing machines, the W5000 Range, offers models which take the guess work out of tough stain removal with its innovative stain system that can distinguish between several persistent stain types. With 22 options including red wine, grass, coffee and lipstick, removing them couldn’t be easier.

Miele

Users can select up to three of these stain options and the machine does the rest. It will adjust the wash cycle parameters including water level, spin speed, wash rhythm and duration, according to the type of soiling. The LCD display on the machines also offers stain removal hints and tips for improved results.

The W5000 Series features Miele’s patented 7kg honeycomb drum which offers the gentlest fabric care, even on bigger loads. The range also boasts eco-friendly features such as low temperature washing (cold and 20 Celsius) and an Energy Efficiency rating which is 20% more economical than ‘A’.

The W5000 Series has a selection of handy everyday programmes, which have all been designed to offer quality results and care for wardrobe favourites. These include cottons, woollens, shirts, dark garments and denim.

Several new programmes have also been added to the W5000 Series. Express 20 is a 20 minute wash for lightly soiled garments – perfect for freshening up a blouse or jumper just before a night out. The Intensive Plus programme, which is available on the top of the range model, is ideal for heavily soiled items like rugby tops. It automatically pre-washes the clothes, extends the main wash and increases the temperature to remove tough and persistent dirt.

For those who prefer to do their laundry overnight, Miele’s Extra Quiet option will automatically select no spin and rinse hold at the end of the wash cycle. Water will remain in the drum until they are ready to initiate the spin cycle the next morning. After two minutes, the spinning is complete and the washing is ready.

A self-cleaning detergent drawer signals the end of messy left over detergent. Made with non-stick properties, the drawer has a detergent repellent surface. Impulses of water are also drawn into the compartment during all programmes to pressure clean and remove any residual detergent.

With a combination of classic design and high end features the new Miele W 5000 range has been designed to provide the ultimate in gentle, environmentally friendly laundry care
